Profile of a Sniffer
The only time George knows how to stand still is when he’s smelling something. And even then it’s not for very long and only a relative stillness.
I really like how the light shines around the edge of the profile, especially along the top of his nose.

The Power of the Nose

George doesn’t lick people. He’s the first dog I’ve ever met who’s like that. But he makes up for it by smelling everything twice. I don’t think he’d be able to survive if his nose wasn’t working.

Love Him and Squeeze Him
Yes, his name is George. But I don’t think that’s why.
I don’t think George knows how to sit still. I’ve taken him outside to use the bathroom and he got so excited about smelling things that he forgot to go. He gets too distracted to go to sleep. He’s a good size to sit in your lap, but he can’t do it because he’ll end up doing push ups so he can get out and run around. We have to remember to watch him in the house, after two dogs that came pre-trained. He jumps on everyone, and he also has this uncanny ability get his feet on either my throat or right in the middle of my lap.
And yet I still love him. How can you not love a face like that?

Walter is a silly dog. We got him when one of my friends found him wandering around the neighborhood. Then we found out where his family was. Do you know what they said?
“We know he was gone.”
What!? You can’t just let a dog wander outside like that!
The best estimates have him at somewhere in the 12-15 years old range. Basically his day consists of sleeping, getting up and walk to a different place to sleep, scratching, and marking his territory. Recently, he’s added barking at anything that makes a noise that surprises him. This includes leaves falling off of a tree.
